Paracetamol is the molecule used to reduce fever for past few decades . Chemically it belongs to Acetaminophen and it comes in NSAID (Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory Drugs) group of drugs . Being NSAID Paracetamol usage also like Analgesic agent which can reduce pain , acting like a pain killer .

Normal adult dosage is 2 Grams/day, and for children 30 mg/kg, has to be taken in devided doses i.e.4 times in a day .
Normally available brands in India are Crocin, Calpol, Dolo and Pacimol .
Yes, It is safe and time tested medicine but usage should be careful and indescriminate use will be leading Stomach ulcerations and even perforation a serious medical complication .
