DIABETIC MEDICINES


Diabetic medicines are used to treat diabetes mellitus . In this case, a persons blood sugar levels are above normal . This disorder is 2 types . Type 1 and Type 2 . In Type 1 diabetes Insulin production is stopped totally in the body . In Type 2 diabetis , Insulin production is insufficient in the body. In bothe cases Diabetic medicines are required .
Gestational diabetes is a condition where mother shows high blood sugar levels during pregnency, otherwise she is normal, in this case, mother is more prone to develop diabetes 2 type disorder later on .
Diabetic medicines are classified in following way .
Type 1 : Administration of external Insulin is only the solution.
Type 2 : Various drugs can be taken orally, and classified as :
1-Insulin Secretagogues : Glimeperide, Repaglinide , Glibenclamide
2-Insulin Sensitizers : Biguanides ( Metformin ) , Thiazolidinedione (Pioglitazone , Rosiglitazone)
3-Alpha Glucosidase Inhibitors : Acarbose .
Various other Diabetic medicines are also available in tha market such as Aurvedic and Homeopathic but their cinical response is inconsistant not documented .
