Drug , as per the etymology originated from drogue a French word .
In general, Drug can be any substance, when it is absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal body function .
Pharmacology defines, a drug is a chemical substance used in the treatment , cure , prevention , or a diagnosis , of a disease or used to enhance physical or mental well being .
Broadly, Drugs are of two types Recreational and Medicinal , and most of the times Medicine is used as synonym to substitute drug in general sense .
Drug or Medicine is a chemical substance like other chemicals in the living organism but introduced from outside .
Recreational Drugs are various types can be extracted from plants or synthesized in the laboratory . Morphine , Cannabis , Nicotine are from herbal source and Heroine is a synthetic recreational drug . These type of Drugs are called generally Drug Abuse or Drug addiction .
Medicinal drugs are various types can be derived from various sources such as Plants , Animals , Minerals , Bacteria , Algae and synthetic drugs .
