Drugs and Alcohol both used by the people for centuries . Alcohol also a drug used in many formulations in olden days . Drugs can be 2 types Prescription and OTC . Prescription Drugs are the licensed medicines which are be prescribed by the doctors after thorough check up followed by various diagnostic methods to treat the disease or disorder .
Drugs and Alcohol is confused most of the times and drugs need not be addictive always where as Alcohol is addictive . And the word Drug is substituted with Medicine most of the times . OTC medicines such as herbal medicines , Multi Vitamin and Multi Mineral formulations and Food supplements can be taken without prescription or doctor's consultation .
But in general use, ia a layman language Drugs and Alcohol can be considered as Drug abuse or Drugs leads to addiction .
